and why do we need a wedding planner?

We specialize in weddings, engagements and proposal ceremonies – some of life’s most important moments. As event planners we offer an intangible, yet priceless service. We are always in the background and forever running two steps ahead of the event, anticipating and setting the stage. We are masters of relationships and seek out trustworthy and high-value vendors in our communities who offer a variety of goods and services at varying price points. Successful events are carried out by trusted planners who can think on their feet and have a sense of what the client would want – at Beyond the Proposal we are confident that you will find we possess these skills and so much more.

We always start with getting to know you and your vision for the event. We want an intimate sense of who you are, so on your special day we have intuitively know how you like things done to complement our plans and timelines. Next, we determine budget – this sets the tone and helps guide decision making. Then we figure out what you want to manage and what areas you feel you need direction and support with. We offer five packages with varying degrees of support and services – we want you to feel comfortable with the services you are paying for and never to pay for something you don’t need. From there, you can add selections from our A la Carte menu so your package is uniquely yours.

You have started a plan and you like to be involved; you’re resourceful and relatively organized. You also know that planning a wedding is a lot of work and you can’t do it all on your own. No worries, we’re here to answer your questions, share our expertise, and point you in the right direction. We will work with you every step of the way, but only when you ask us to. This package allows you to take the reins, while having the right amount of professional guidance, and the expertise you need. We will be there on your wedding day to make sure it is flawless, and that everlasting impressions are created for everyone in attendance.

You want to make the decisions but have a trusted partner guide you through the process- we get it! This is an extensive package for clients who already have full plates but want to remain involved in the planning. Your ideas will be the foundation of the event, but we will do the legwork.  This package is the best value for your dollar. Using our hands-on approach, we will take you from start to finish, while staying true to your vision.

We will take care of the time-consuming details, and narrow down your possible selections. Together, we will create a perfect event.

This package is a full wedding planning service, where we take care of everything related to planning – you just have to say yes or no!

  • Pick-up flowers the morning of the wedding
  • Up to 2 vendor recommendations that best reflect you style and budget
  • 1 additional in-person planning meeting (up to 1.5 hours)
  • Attendance of final venue walk through with couple
  • Contract review: eliminate redundancies, review allocated hours, and advise on costs
  • Assistance with guest list assembly
  • Assistance with seating chart management (Room layout, number of guests per table, etc)
  • Creation of basic budget
  • Coordination of arrival times with vendors for event
  • Manage hotel accommodations/room block arrangements – negotiate group rates

  • Assist with transition of ceremony to reception and transportation of items
  • Planning tools and checklists to cover every detail (Budget spreadsheet, vendor planning sheets, etc)
  • Creation of room layout to best accommodate event size
  • Ceremony planning (creation of service, unity ceremony ideas, music selection, etc)
  • Assist photographer by gathering guests for their photos and calling out photography groups. (Photography list included)
  • Placement of décor items including menus, table numbers, place cards, favors and seating chart (may require an assistant)
  • Up to 4 vendor recommendations that best reflect your style and budget
  • 2 additional in-person planning meetings (up to 1.5 hours each)
  • Detailed budget, with maintenance & cost-saving tips
  • DIY project ideas and assistance (up to 3 hours – additional hours extra)
  • Supervision of ceremony and/or reception set up (Up to 3 hours)
  • Rehearsal dinner coordination: provide recommendations for venues, help with menu & service details, and décor assistance as necessary

At Beyond the Proposal, we want to ensure that we are able to meet all of your needs on your wedding day. We want to be able to give you, and your families and friends, the best experience possible. To achieve this, we offer additional a la carte services. These services may be added on to any package, or purchased individually without a package.   • Full theme and color design: We help you develop your style, colors, theme, and incorporate your unique signature into your day
  • Personal styling: We help you shop for wedding day attire for the bride & groom and wedding party, to help you create a complete look
  • Planning of other wedding events: We can help you plan your bridal showers, gift opening, etc
  • Travel fees may apply to areas outside of a 50km radius from Calgary
